What is Cornea ulcer?
Corneal ulcer is actually an open sore or erosion in out layer of cornea. It is commonly caused due to infection with viruses, parasite, fungi or bacteria. It is a disease which caused by foreign bodies present in eye, severe dryness of eyes, scratches on eye surface, severe allergic- eye disease and several inflammatory disorders.
Symptoms-
•hazy or blurry vision
•eyes that appears bloodshot or red
•discharge and itching
•increased light sensitivity
•watery and painful eyes
•white patch on cornea
Treatments-
Anti-biotic drops are given to the patients suffering from corneal ulcer caused by bacteria. Severe corneal ulcers sometimes need corneal transplant. Corticosteroid eye- drops can be used for reducing inflammation and swelling in certain conditions.
